My 99 f150 and my early 99 f250 both had this problem, it is probably bad actuators that is what fixed mine.

Well both of my trucks are Super cabs not Crew, and yes both sides quit. As for where I don't know my buddy is a mechanic and he ordered and installed. I think I paid around 50 per side.

there's a writeup somewhere on repairing the actuators with some aluminum foil. I did it the day after i bought my truck back in June and they've been working flawlessly since. Can't remember if it was on this site or not.

I have a 2001 f350 crew cab and I just replaced 3 of 4 actuators. I paid about 40.00 ea for them. Mine did the same thing yours did you could press the button and see the door lock move but not go all the way down or up and it was the actuators

I fixed mine for two cents. I replaced the thermal resistor with a penny.
