I need some info please. My truck is a 99 f550 w 360.000 miles rings bad in a couple cylinders. Looking for a good used motor. What year motor will drop in my truck? Date on VIN tag is 2/99. Thanks

I know this is a Powerstroke site, but you could always drop a Cummins in it. Although it might be a more expensive swap.

Alredy thought about it my other truck is a 00 2500. The 99 has a mechanics bed and crane. need to keep trannie for PTO.

I'm pretty sure they make adapter plates for your transmission.

but the block from 94-03 is relatively the same and will work.

My opinion? Pull the motor, take it to a machine shop, have them bore the cylinders out, put new pistons in and call it a day.
