Thanks guys for the info on this matter! It's so hard to find stuff for the early 99, but I have found someone who has early 99 pedestals without the EBPV. I also found out that the 99.5 Non EBPV turbo exhaust outlet made by Garrett will fit on the early 99 exhaust housing. I know I could just gut the EBPV and plug it up and remove the butterfly valve and rod in the exhaust side and plug that too, but i just don't have the time to run all over to get that done, as it is the truck is just sitting for now and its -35F out here anyway. I'm not too keen on running around much till it warms up a little.
Since I got the turbo off the truck I see a little oil build up on the inside of the exhaust outlet, but no oil at all from the up pipe inlet. Is this normal? The turbo has never been rebuilt and has 140 000 miles on it. If that's not a good sign, does anyone know a good place where I could send it to get rebuilt?
