I pulled carpet last weekend and tightened the hell out of all the body and bed bolts to no avail. I will not do it every time maybe one out of 3 bumps....defenatley on the drivers side although the passanger can feel it to. Has done it since I bought it, before lift, balljoints, wheels, tires ect. My mechanic told me the same thing to grease my new balljoints and gave me the zerks. Need to get this clunk/banging taken care of though.

Dont know where to look now.
Try the sway bar bushings and end links. Mine was doing the same thing and i bought new bushings from NAPA for $10 and that cured the loudest clunks in the front end. I need to replace the end links too but they're $60 bucks a piece!!!

I have new end links and bushings that came with the longer drops with the Skyjacker lift kit. I then bought Energy Suspension bushings for the sway bar mounts themselves.
I will verify that all that is still tight tommorow but my noise was there even before the lift.

AS far as the computer code goes, I guess the paper tag came off and got lost when I installed the DP tuner inside so I have no numbers to share.

I was wrong on the truck door pillar mfg. date, it is 12-98 not 11-98. Still an early 99 though. The tag on the drivers side valve cover also says mfg. date of 12-98 on the engine too. I did the foil delete on it today. While I had all that apart I snapped a pic of the compressor wheel. Is this a wicked wheel? Still trying to narrow down why my surging is so prevelent.

Thanks.

Yeah sounds like our clunks are the same. Not every bump mostly bigger bumps. Can feel it like your saying through the cab. Driven me crazy!

The cut off between early and late is 12-7(or 8)-99.
You had the foil AND I'm pretty sure that's a late compressor wheel. Sorry bud, think you got a late 99.

Maybe a late 99 engine inside an early 99 suspension. I know its early on that since I did the lift myself w/o issues.

If it is a late 99 engine im ok with that. Now I can ge the ported housing and different wheel and correct this surge issue. Are you sure thats a late wheel?
I removed the foil sat.

Thanks

Pretty sure. Here's the wicked wheel/early wheel/x wheel.
