So I crawled under the truck the other day to do an oil change and had a look at my exhaust system as I am building up to replacing it here in the near future. Found what I believe (99% sure) is a cat, something I had not expected considering its an early 99, thought they didn't come out till later.
Anyhow I definitely have a large, symetrical, football shaped can about 4 feet upstream of my muffler, its gotta go. ![]() I wondered why I hit higher EGTs sooner than most on here with my limited mods. ![]() So when did these engines start getting catties on em? |

my 96 had one it was really bad all clogged up and starting to fall apart i took it off and the truck runs much better and cooler
