AND, my 02 didn't have one. My buddies early 03 7.3 did. From everything I've read, they weren't required until 03. But, cali trucks have been required to have 'em for some time now. And, there's a few other places that have those kinda emmisions laws, that sell "cali" trucks. So, this could explain the random appearance? Cali trucks also had different injectors, so...

From that point, I think Ford put a cat on X many 7.3's to meet cali laws "just in case" because they were selling so fast. In 2003, it was standard with all 6.0's and the last run on 7.3's. |
