Another engine option?

I am going to look at a 92 econoline 350 with a 7.3L nonturbo in it. It is an entended van.

Are there other engine options for this - specifically a turocharged option? Another Ford engine? a 4BT or a6BT? I am mostly interested in better mpg but also want durability.

ford didn't put a turbo on the 7.3 till 94. As far as other options ummm you could always do a motor swap. Also i know banks makes a kit to turbo charge the idi motors dont know if other do as well

Thanks! will a turbo from a later model 7.3 fit on a non-turbo model? What are the easiest engine swaps to do for the econoline?

umm your best bet would be to post that question in the 7.3 section about turbo options and choices those guys could rattler off 100s of options im sure. And as far as the engine swap i would imagine a cummins 5.9 would be the easiest since its one of the smallest engines. I dont think a 4BT would be big enough. Some one with more knowledge on the econlines should be about to help you out a bit more
