Should I buy it?

I have a line on a '98 E-350 (short box) for 2 grand. It's got a lot of weird rust on it, the floor is compromised in some spots...but it's almost 10 years newer than my 1990.

I finally got the '90 running, but it won't start without a blast of ether, hot or cold...I just don't trust it.

This new one has 350+ on it. I'm told it has a rebuilt Jasper engine around 100k ago, no documentation. Is it cheaper to buy this than fix my current problems? It's got the Powerstroke engine - is that better than the 7.3 I currently have in my '90?

Old versus new - I'd appreciate any heads up.

I'd be leery of a "rebuilt" with no documentation. Any codes? any running issues? does the guy seem at all trustworthy? does he have any service records?

I'm "waiting" on all that. Promised, but not delivered yet. Plus I went to drive it and it would'nt start - he's changing out the steering column (thinks it's a neutral safety switch issue), so I'll find out on Monday.

I'm interested cuz it's newer than my current clunker. Nicer int., better motor, but more rust.
