Eli,

I deliver expedited freight nationwide. Put on about 130,000 per year. I change the oil about every 10,000 miles due to the better oil, Motorkote and all highway miles.

Jim

How do you get your tires to last so long?

Nearly all of my miles are highway miles. The first set Goodyear Wrangler HT's gave me 205,000 (5 tire rotation). All others have been Dakota HT's getting 170,000 to 175,000 (4 tire rotation). I run 60 lbs in the front and 80 lbs in the rear. I regularly haul 700 to 2000 pounds and average 19.7 MPG's. The sweet spot for fuel economy is 66-67 mph. Over that, it start dropping as the mph's increase. Empty I'll average about 21 mpg's.

Have to let it warm up 5 to 10 minutes or it won't get it's self out of the drive way, worse when it's really cold out... I'd like to straight pipe it, remove the cat, and DP-Tuner... and figure out a better intake/air filter.
The 03 E350 air filter housing is an improvement over the earlier ones. After the one on my 00 cracked, I replaced it with an 03.

Working on 1,000,000 miles. 2 more years.

Forgot to mention, a lot of oil changes (Valvoline PB2000 only), filters, light bulbs and wiper blades. Engine, Trans and rear end are treated every 4 oil change with MotorKote. Look it up, it's an unbelievable hyper lubricant.
Is it broke in yet? I'm glad to hear they'll go that far. My mechanic told me that I'll never wear it out. I'm close to 400,000.

The air box on the 7.3l vans are the same from 95-03. I have some of each, so I know for sure. I have seen some one make a DIY set up with two cone filters and a T-shaped pipe to the turbo.

The problem with warm-up times is probably because you have 700,000 miles on the injectors. By all rights they should have gone out 500,000 miles ago. If you put some rebuilt injectors in, you will be sitting pretty for at least another 250K or maybe much more in your case.

I use MotorKote on all 6 of my vehicles, both motorcycles, and my mower. It will be in everything I own with an engine for as long as I live. Unbelievable product.
