This is my first post in the van section... even tho it was my first PSD! I've had my '99 E350 in my sig for almost 3 years, it's a work truck with an 11' Stahl utilty box on the back... great to work out of, but sure is a turd compaired to my SuperDuty. Have to let it warm up 5 to 10 minutes or it won't get it's self out of the drive way, worse when it's really cold out... I'd like to straight pipe it, remove the cat, and DP-Tuner... and figure out a better intake/air filter.

I just got installed the evolution system and it is incredible the power difference on just the lowest setting . One customer towing a trailer recorded a 4 mpg gain on a trip from canada to arizona. The best part is no turbo lag off the line , just a little on the peddle and the van lurrches forward.Plus you get gauge read outs and trouble codes. Will pay for it self in a year if i was on deisel but i run on veggie

There is a ton of room there to put a new down pipe in. You can use a truck down pipe if you have a welder. You need to cut it in the middle and take out a few inches and weld it back together. Or use a splicing clamp maybe. I tried a factory down pipe off my brother's 2003 7.3l on a van, and the dimensions are the same as far as the bends and an angles and such. The only difference is that it hung down below the frame. So it would have to be shortened. Go and look under your van with the dog house in place and see how much space you have down there around the down pipe. It's actually quite a bit of room. You can easily go 1" bigger than stock and clear everything, I think. |

Satisfied owner of a 2003, 7.3, E350 with 745,000 miles. Completely original engine, trans and rear end. I've replaced a couple of Alternators, 4 sets of tires, 3 sets of brakes, 4 vacuum pumps, 3 sets of U-joints, 1 belt, 1 water pump, 3 batteries, the heater core and rebuilt front suspension once. Working on 1,000,000 miles. 2 more years. Forgot to mention, a lot of oil changes (Valvoline PB2000 only), filters, light bulbs and wiper blades. Engine, Trans and rear end are treated every 4 oil change with MotorKote. Look it up, it's an unbelievable hyper lubricant. Last edited by High Mileage Jim : 07-11-2009 at 03:57 PM. |
