you dont need to replace the lines....

if its related to the lines it will be the quick connect fittings on the HPOP....you just need to replace o rings...

and no...the alt. doesnt have to come off....but it is not a terribly fun job to do on a van either...

sounds good thank you so much. so do you think i should try to get it started to see if these quick connect fittings leak or take tham off and inspect tham because you cant really see or fell if thay are bad or not but it does look like thats where it started.

Clean the lines with carb cleaner, get a bright light and watch for leaks when you are cranking the starter.

problem fixed it was the steel braded line going from the hpop to the passenger valve cover there was a litlle hole in it . tx for all your help
