Key on... Massive battery drain....
2004 6.0 L pst E350 Extended. Batts show 12.3 v before key on . Key on... batt 8-6 v . No crank. Just starter relay chatter. Key off... Gage cluster needles spaz 3-5 sec. Key on wait 2 min voltage returns to 11.3 v turn key to start some times will crank some times relay chatter no start. I have 2 extra batts conected and charger running . Glow plug relay bad ? Short in harness? Problem is intermittant and driving me nuts . Dealer wants it back to check but its stuck in driveway !

the alternator windings. Think of the diodes as one-way valves, that let electricity OUT of the alternator, into the battery. If shorted, the diodes would allow the battery to short through the alternator. Again, just my guess. Ask the shop, and let us know! |
