I need some ideas for how to secure cargo in my E-350. Are there "plug and play" rails that I can buy, or is everything kind of custom? As you can see in the pic, the rig has nothing in it right now. All of the factory holes, pass-throughs, nooks and crannies are available. (Although it is also all covered in bedliner compound.)
The stuff I'll frequently be carrying:
Bicycles
Scuba gear (heavy gas cylinders)
Model airplanes (big, but light)
Eventually our British motorcycle will break down and I'll need to take it somewhere, too.
Here's a dumb question: if I can fit a cargo strap hook in one of the wall's sheet metal gaps, is it safe to do so? As this is a cargo van I am hoping the interior is ruggedized like that but I'd hate to find out the hard way that the sheet metal on the walls is weak and not meant for such abuse.
I'm also curious about how you attach hardpoints and tie-downs to the floor. Seems like you'd want to be really careful about where you poked holes in the floor. Plus I don't have any idea what kind of fasteners to use.
I'd greatly appreciate any pics, links, tall tales, or ideas.
