Need help with Van please

Hello to all, first time poster here.
We do not specialize in ford products, we actually specialize in the 6.5/6.6 GM diesels.
But for whatever reason, there is a 1998 E350 7.3 Automatic trans. Econoline in my stall.

I need some serious newbie help.
I am battling an inoperative speedometer and trans. wont shift out of first.
Scan test reveals p0500 vss circuit malfunction.
I am trying to pull up the wiring schematic but I need to know if this is an early or late 1998 model.
Also, does it have an electric fuel pump......that is what alldata is asking
VIN is 1FTSS34F0WHA32427
Build date is 09/97

Road test with scan tool shows that the PCM displays 0 for vehicle speed.
Same thing for trans. data display.

I removed the VSS in the rear axle and it is clean, no debris on it.
I want to ohm out the two wire vss circuit but cant seem to get the proper pcm connector end view.
Alldata is talking about some kind of breakout box.......

Anyone know if I am on the right track or in left field

please help a fellow tech

thanks in advance

Usually the vss has failed. But if you want to be sure just pin to pin the wires for the vss

The vans have a speedo gear in the tailhousing of the trans. I would pull that out and take a look.
