Hi
I am looking to buy an 03 e-350 Chateau Van with 7.3 diesel.
So far everything looks too good to be true....
Van belonged to elderly couple, they used it for trips to ... whatever,
114 km it's ~71 miles on clock. After owner past away - van been sold back to the same dealer who sold it in the first place.
Thats all what I found out over the phone for now. Haven't seen it in person yet.
Because... dealer's manager took it for a weekend trip ... :dunno: YEpP!

Looks VERY good on pictures!
I never wanted weekend to end so much before...

About me: I drive a truck for living, own 2 VW, both diesels, know how to hold wrench.Do my own maintenance.
Love the mileage my diesel's make, but I'll need a bigger vehicle. Looked at regular minivans... NO! Just can't switch to regular van.
Started to search for diesel van, but they literally
do not exist in North America. Sprinter way overpriced.
Now, I searched all this forum and found a lot of useful info.
I know what to look for, but still can't make up my mind.
I may go see it and end up buying damn thing! But still not sure...
The combination of 7.3 in van?
IF everything he told me on phone is right, do you believe in miracles?
Low mileage diesel van, good condition,1-2 owners and nobody wants it?
What else am I missing here? Something major?
But then, Ford dealer wouldn't mess around with it. And it's sold fully certified...
Need help to decide. Lost sleep over a damn van ...
Greg.

have the dealer do a "buzz" test on the injectors, and scan for any codes

check to be sure that the R/A/Ratio is the 3.55 and you shold be able to pull so decent milage...if its a 4.10 you will have to nurse it to get better than 18-19

and you are right it does sound too good to be true...
but you can't go too wrong with the 7.3...the truck guys are still hunting them.
