trans question

i have a 1996 e350 powerstroke 7.3l e4od transmission is acting up when am going down the road the shift from 1st to 2nd (automatic transmission) there is a hard shift/cluck. and when slowing down there is about the same thing any ideas od light does not blink. have changed trans fluid and filter .any ideas

Universal joints in the drive shaft all good and tight? Do you hear this clunk going from drive to reverse, say, while in a parking lot? Can you tell the location of the clunk, front/rear, left/right?

trans question

well the trans fluid it burnt after getting it changed a few weeks ago so that is that .but my other question is a 1994 ford e350 trans not a powerstroke able to be put in the 1996 ford e350 powerstroke cub van thanks for your help

I think the bell housing bolt patern is diffrent from gas trans to diesel trans... you'd have to check that for sure.
