My 99 15 passenger powerstroke lost my brakes
Hello all, Yesterday I started hearing a rather loud clicking noise comimg from under the hood, at the same time the brake light came on and the pedal got very hard to press. The brakes hardly work at all....air pump bad? comments?
Thanks |

Roguewave,
Sounds like the vacuum pump. I've replaced 4 of them on my van. It's not too hard to replace, 3 screws. The hardest part is finding a puller to get the pulley off the pump. Jim |

Thank you Jim, I thought the same thing. Do you have a good online source for one or did you just go to the stealership?
Thanks |

I've used Ford, Auto Zone and Advance. All got about the same life (about 150,000 miles). Each time it went out, I was on the the road and had to find one now to get going. Never tried an online source.
