Stock wheel or wheel cover

I have a 2002 dually and my alum. wheels are shot. I don't know if i should get them polished or go with a wheel cover. The polishing is 200.00 and the wheel covers are about 250.00 once i get the extra steel wheel i need. Just looking to see what you guys think would look the best and last. Thanks

Well, they've lasted since 2002, so they are pretty durable. I would say just polish what you have. Aluminum is so much better looking than wheel covers. More than that, you will be paying more than just $250 to get steel wheels and covers. you will have to mount your tires on the steel wheels, and then pay for balancing too.

As for the polishing process, I don't know if they have to de-mount them before they polish them.

One thing nice about wheel covers you can pop them on/off if you do a lot of hard off roading you can run steel rims (ratle can paint job and they look new) pop off the wheel covers and have fun. when you get back wash the truck pop the covers back on and you are dun. No moor polishing out nicks and dings in the alum. rims $$$$. steve...

polishing looks good

keep the alum and polish the rims. looks so much better. good tip for rims and paint is to use only water when cleaning them. don't use soap or any chemicals. they eat at your finish. get a bucket after u spray it off, fill bucket and get a good sponge and wipe her down. keep sponge clean from dirt each time you wipe to keep the grit off. get a chamee cloth from you local parts house and wipe her dry. if you keep a good coat of polish on it, i use meguires 26, and use just water, you'll retain the shine longer and won't damage your rims. it works. try it you'll never use soap or cleaners again
