Mudflap and smoke laws.

I'm just curious about smoke laws in Indiana, I'm not concerned about it really cause my truck don't smoke that much and there are a few trucks that Roll. The. Coal. but I wondered if there was a law.

What I am concerned about is the mudflap laws here. I don't have mudflaps on my truck now and I don't want an instant fine. I took mine off cause they were dumb and falling off anyway. They were hangin there loosely by 2 screws each...

Is there a law??? Do I need 'em??

Most states have a law for mudflaps. Even your old state of Michigan has a law for mudflaps. But there are stipulations when applying this law. On most privately owned trucks that are stock hieght. Usually they are not required to have mudflaps. Most mudflap laws pertain more to commercial or farm vehicles. Because they do not the fenders to prevent the tires from throwing things or kicking up debris from the road.

I know your truck and it is low enough I would not worry about putting mudflaps on it. Heck look at my truck I don't run mudflaps.

As for the diesel smoke law, that is more of an emission thing. Usually you don't see it enforced all that much in farm states. But that is not saying it won't be enforced. But again your truck is not that bad so I would not worry about it.

Thanks bud. I was wondering about the stipulations I heard that if a truck is lifted so tall it has to have mudflaps on the rear at least. If there's a cop that has a problem with it I can just tell him I'm not from around here, and I never had a problem in MI. IF I need some then I can get some that are better than the useless ones that it had. I mean they worked.... they just sucked.

Keep your truck registered in Michigan, then you won't have to worry about it.

My brother was up from Florida last week. His windows are tinted out. He was harrassed by one Officer, but since he was from Florida and the plates on the truck are from Florida the cop really couldn't do nothing.

Mudflaps are a vehicle code. There for they really apply to vehicles registered and plated with in that state.

I tinted my windows too. Lol I think I have more ground on fighting the mudflaps lol! But I can always say it came like that. They aren't tinted super-ridiculous-dark, but they're clearly tinted. It's legal here, and I've seen alot tinted in MI. My truck doesn't seem to attract too much attention surprisingly... it's the lil riced out cars that piss the cops off lol! My dad will be mad though. I'm glad I did though since I gotta keep my tools n' sh!t in there.

Actually Mi state law on tinted windows is 30% front driverside and Passenger side windows, Windshield can not be tinted more then 4 inches from the top for a glare strip. All other windows can be tinted as dark as you want.
