Help on tires and wheels.

Ok so I have ran in to a problem, I am looking to put on some KMC XD rock star dually wheels in 17in on my 2002 F350 dually. This is where the problem starts. KMC makes the wheel I listed in a 17x6.5 8x170 bolt. Thats is what my truck is, so no problem right? NO, I cant find any where a steel inner wheel that is 17 in 8x170 dually wheel.

What I don't understand is if KMC and others make a dually 17in wheel 8x170 then to buy and use it you have have to have a 17 in steel rim to go with it. So where can you get them? Or how is anyone using these rimes sold by KMC and others? Every tire place I have called has no idea. I sent an email to KMC with no response. Please help, I like these rimes and I already have 4 new 17 in tires to put on them so thats a huge part of why I want 17 in rimes.

05+ is 8x200, he needs 99-04 wheels guys, they were 16" in those years

Places like discount tire should sell that 17" inside wheel, have you ordered the wheels yet?

No one makes a 17 in dually wheel for 8x170. My tire shop said that you can get rock stars in 17in by 8x170. As I looked closer it's not true. Just 8x200. Now I have another question. How hard is it to convert the rear d80 hub to 8x200? Expensive? Possible?

Just swap the axle entirely, and the extensions on the front hub assuming yours is 4x4, if 2wd then swap the rotor out

Thanks, that answered my question. I will just have to stay with the 16's. Now I have a what if question.

If I ran 16's in the rear and 17's up front with the same high tire, would that be a problem?

As long as the tire circumfrence/diameters are the same there shouldn't be a problem. If it's 4wd.

Did your truck start off as a dually or did you convert it? Why did you not just run 17s up front too?
