Question Convert an 08 dually to SRW?

I have an 08 F250 CC shortbed now, and I really need to upgrade to a longbed. I spend ALOT of time on narrow dirt roads on hunting leases.

The turning radius on my shortbed F250 is "not so good" and would be even worse on a longbed F250.

So... I was thinking of getting an 08 F350 dually with the monobeam widetrac front end option. That cuts the turning radius down significantly! However, you can only get it on a dually, and I don't really need a dually at all.

So, as crazy as this seems, has anyone every converted a dually to a SRW? I'd heard you can drive em' with the two outer wheels off, but I'd want to pull off the big fenders too. Is it painted behind those wide hips? Would I have to get a whole new bed? If so how much does that cost?

It's going to be more work and money than it's worth.

It would be cheaper to upgrade the front suspension to the Mono Beam.

Hey I love the sound of that! I wonder if anyone has ever done such a thing? What would be involved, what parts, etc? If I could pull that off I'd probably keep my current truck. Not a longbed, but at least it would turn on a dime!

Hmmm

I thought only the 450 dually had the sharp turning radius?

Its an option on the 350.
What year is your truck now? If it is an 04 or older the 05 and up SDs with the coil front springs turn a lot sharper than the leaf spring trucks.

Edit: sorry, reread your first post.

I think it would be cheaper to switch out the whole front suspension than convert a dually to a SRW.
