front & rear gear ratio change

When I brought my truck to the dealer where i bought it for the 15,000 mile service I asked the service manager about what it would cost to have the gear ratio changed from 4.10 to 3.73. he stated that if I did have the change done ford would no longer warenty the truck, What a crock of sh**. I was under the empression that all dealers are ford certifed. and have the backing from ford to do any repairs of this sort, He explained to me that it had to of been done at the factory where the truck was first built. any one here have any knowlage of this sort of change ,Thanks for any information that will follow.
