2001 f350 djm 3-5 drop instructions????????

i'm in the middle of doing the djm 3-5 drop. got the rear all apart, ready to bolt up the drop hangers and shackles. the djm directions are pretty much worthless. no pictures of thier hangers... no holes on the djm hangers line up with any holes on the frame, and it seems like this kit will drop the rear more like 7 inches or so if i center the hangers on the frame and drill my own holes... but, then the top of the shackles and the spring eyelet will be in the bed... wtf over? what should the shackle angle be without a load on the springs? any help would be awesome.. thanks guys...
