I have a set of 24.5 big truck wheels trying to see do I need to have them machined down to a 24 or will they work like they are?

how much lift do you have?

Im actually going to lower it 3/5

Then most likely your going to have to have them shaved in order to run a lower profile tire. There are some killer pics of a white one on here somewhere that did the same as I think your planning. Looks awesome!

What do I have to get milled down?

If your wanting to run a low profile tire you have to get the rims milled to run a 24 inch tire instead of a 24.5 inch semi tire. Tennessee wheel and tire does it I believe, but any good machine shop should be able to do it.

Do mill the lip down or is it sum else

Idk if I've seen 24.5s yet. Seen 22.5s though.

its not the lip, your lip is already 24. It's more the outside where the fatties hold onto the wheel.

So what has to be done?
