Weird cylinder thing next to hitch on F450?

Hey Guys,

I was hearing this noise from the back of my truck when going over bumps etc. I got under it this afternoon looking for the culprit and found this weird looking cylinder deal on the drivers side of the hitch. It's almost magnetized and then contained with some bracketry. Well the lower bracket is pent so the magnet is release and its smacking the bent bracket when going over bumps.

What the hell is this thing, any ideas?

Thanks,

John
