MPG question

I have a 2003 f350 SD and have a quic question. I would like to be able to observe my mpg as I'm driving and towing. Does anyone have knowledge with using a scanguage? If so which one should I get or is there something better? Cheaper the better, I think.

Does your '03 have the 6.0L or the 7.3L?

I know the Edge Insight does have updates that the 6.0L that will allow for monitoring MPG. Realize anything out there is going to be a lie-o-meter, and none of them will be as accurate as calculating it tank-to-tank.

I have the 7.3L and I will be doing a lot of towing this year so I'd like to be able to see how my MPG may or may not change under different loads. I understand that electronics are not 100% accurate but I want to at least be able to observe the different variations.

I'm not aware of any after market options for the 7.3L.
