Choosing the right exhaust.
Howdy, this is my first post and my first diesel. I have a 2001 F350 7.3 that is stock besides an AFE intake. I would like the add a new exhaust but I am confused with all of the options. What would be the performance difference between 4 & 5 inch? SS versuses alum. steel? Any maker better than the other? Any advice would be very welcome. Thanks John

![]() The exhuast difference is only in the sound! 5" will have a deeper tone. the cheaper S.S. will form surface rust very quickly and look like crap. Either get the aluminized or the more expensive S.S. (I saw no need in S.S. so I chose Aluminized, still looks good, I'm pretty sure that is the more common choice for people) Makers: They are all mostly the same... I saw different mounting styles and exit angle to be most common conversation points. How about a picture of the truck |

I prefer the sound of 5", as far as the material i got aluminized, cheaper and im not worrying about it rusting off any time soon, has been great so far.

Banks
I'm considering the Banks Monster 5'' Alum exhaust......Seems to b a good deal.....

How much is it?
As much as I have looked, Banks has the most overpriced items and IMO not worth it. MBRP, or Diamond Eye is most common as I remember... Diamond eye is USUALLY the best bang for the buck... unless you find a great deal on MBRP... |

it was about $600 with the extra piece of pipe.....that was with a 6'' ss tip....

I was wrong, it was the MBRP system i was looking at.....

Ya go with MBRP or Diamond Eye. My opinion atleast. Majority of people go with MBRP, a good number go with Diamond Eye though.

You can also do aluminized and paint it with high temp black exhaust paint
