5spd options?

I am looking to go from the 3spd auto w/Gearvendor under/overdrive, for a 5spd manual. I just need to know what I am looking for.

I have a 6.9 with turbo, and its a 1ton, can I go and grab just any ford truck 5spd? or do I have to look for a specific model?

Any help you guys could give me would be great maybe a build link or two.... I have just gotten tired od puttin along at 55 mph with big rigs flyin past me.....
