6.0 to 6.7 Help
I have a 2005 F350 6.0 Lariat Dually with 59,000 miles that I use to pull my horse trailer. It is completely up to date with service. I have replaced the EGR, cleaned the turbo and just recently replaced the fuel injector control module. I am ready to say good bye to the 6.0 and move into something more reliable. I would like to feel confident that the 2011/2012 F 350 6.7 is my answer but after what I have been through I am looking at the Chevrolet 3500 as one to consider. I am anxiously seeking your input. Note: I am not a truck expert just a "girl wanting to pull her horse trailer and not break down". By the way the 2005 is for sale.

If your just pulling the horse trailer I'd keep the 6.0. Is it a daily driver too?

With only 59,000 on the 6.0 I say bulletproof it and be happy. You aren't going to get near what that truck is worth trading it in or selling it privately. Egr delete, studs and a few other odds and ends and you have a reliable truck that gets decent mileage and will pull anything you want. Just my .02

6.0 to 6.7???
Now I am really confused....I have not heard a whole lot of positives about the 6.0. I use it only for hauling my horse trailer on weekends. It has left me stranded several times in remote locations with a trailer full of horses. I have put a lot of money into it to do the repairs and keep up on all service with little rewards. Most recently the FICM. I had not considered keeping it....just seems like constant problems and not a truck I have been able to count on. Your advice thus far is to keep it. What to do??????

An 05 6.0 with 59000 miles....it doesnt get driven enough. 6.0's dont like to sit. Mine sat at a dealer 6 or so months and when I bought it I dropped two injectors the first two weeks I had it.....They need run, and like to be run hard.

I think with all the emissions crap on the newer trucks, Id keep the 6.0L. Just seems like the more EPA stuff that gets put on these trucks the worse they get. I love new trucks just dont think I would be more confident in the 6.7 over the 6.0L.

FYI
I just purchased a Garrett GT3788VA from Performance Truck Products for $1095 with free shipping for my 05 Excursion 6.0. That price is good online but if you call in the order they will honor it. I'm told this is the best upgrade for the money and it's a direct swap with no mods. The guy at PTP said there may be a little more noticable lag but the performance and reliability make up for it.
