I've found the general dimensions I need HERE

Stock 2005
F350 CC
4x4
Dually

But there is one dimension I need to be fully preparred to fit the truck I'm flying up to Louisville to pick up saturday into my garage (with 4" to spare )

I need THIS dimension:



To know how much of my wall unit I need to remove to fit the front of the truck in. I'm thinking I need to remove the area in red...but I MAY have to go higher.



Would someone with a similar truck mind throwing a tape from the ground straight up to about where 12" or so up on the hood would be vertically?

Basically I'm trying to do THIS:


With the black being the wall and the red being the remainding wall unit.

LOVE to have the garage preparred to just drive it in saturday night.

How the hell do you know when to stop??? Man, that's cuttin it close bud. Good job on figuring the math though! And how'd you find a crew cab dually shortbed so fast? I've been looking/browsing for those for a few months now.

Had the wife guide me in the first time, then set a brick on the carpet in front of the front tire. So now I roll in slow till I feel the bump.

Planning to get parking curbs for all 3 cars soon.

Well, I'm an engineer (read: anal and spend more time on silly stuff like this than watching sports) ...and had already had AutoCAD as-builts of the house when it was finished.....so I knew what I had to work with. Problem was finding accurate dimensional datas on the truck itself

Dude it's been YEARS in the making! Having driven several long bed crew cabs (my old boss has a badass 05 king ranch that I use to drive a lot when it was brand new) I KNEW I didn't want to own a long bed CC. Damn that was long!!!! I HATED having to negotiate the parking lots and even pull a trailer with it. It was SO much harder than even trying to drive that switcher truck changing out 53' trailers at the hub I use to work at back in college. So I knew I wanted a short bed, whatever it was. And I FOUND a short bed 250 ext cab. But after going to look at it, and throwing the kids in the back (I have 2 teenagers and a 9yr old) I KNEW an ext cab wasn't gonna cut the mustard. But I've always wanted a dually. They make towing SO much better! But I had only seen the black with the gold and burgundy graphics in a shortbed dually. And I didn't really LIKE those.

Then one day I was at the coin car wash spraying the dust off the exploder about 2 years ago and a guy was vacuuming out a 2003 white 4x4 CC shortbed dually. I went over to compliment his truck, since I'd never seen a white one, and he told me it was for sale. Now...if I had WANTED white, I woulda bought that one because it was nice! But after seeing that and coming HERE and doing searches, I knew they were out there to be had, and that they made them up till 2010. So I just dedicated a few hours every night to FINDING one....but damn I'm picky!
I wanted:
Black
Crew cab
4x4
Short bed
Straight drive
Bench front seat (seating for 6 was a must)
And I'd really like a dually, but wasn't a must.

I searched with a 3000 mile limit on Auto Trader, and used craigshelper with a 3000 mile limit, and found this bad boy at a dealership in Indiana. But it was listed as having an Automatic trans....so I filed it away in a favorites folder. Then I looked again at it about a month later and noticed the picture from the passenger side had a stick...and called about it. It was PERFECT!

I say all that..to say NOT to limit your searches because 1/2 the people listing don't either:

1. Know how to list it properly
2. Know what they actually HAVE

So broaden your search and leave no stone uncovered
