On a SRW, the front wheels stick out further than the rear. If you put SRW wheels on a DRW axle, the rears will stick out further than the fronts. Its not much though. Scuffy has a DRW axle under his SRW truck.

Not to hijack, but I have also thought of this... I have often wondered if I could remove the adaptors on the front, and both rear wheels, and just slap on some regular single wheels... just never had the chance to try. With the flat bed I have on my truck at the moment, it's a little too narrow for the dual rear wheels, and single wheels would look good... keep the duals for when I get the utilty bed painted and on the truck. Also opens up the option of larger tires without spacers in the rear... like 35's!!!

looks to me like the front hub adaptor could be removed and bolt on regular wheel. i've seen several dually's with wider wheels on the front as u would use on a srw.

DRW rear axle is 72" from wheel flange to wheel flange. SRW axle is 67.5" from wheel flange to wheel flange IIRC.

Its not bad at all. You can barely notice it. Over on CompD, there are quite a few people that have put a D80 from a DRW F350 into a SRW F350. Just remember when doing the swap to use a D80 from a '99-'04 F350 DRW instead of a '05-up. The '99-'04 rearend still has the 8x170mm bolt pattern on the hubs whereas the '05-up rearend has a different pattern. 8x200mm IIRC.
