binding feeling
I have a 99 f-250 and I'm puzzled. When I lock the front hubs and put it in 4wd either high or low, going straight I feel like something is binding. It feels like if you are in 4wd and turn how you have that hopping feel, but it does that going straight. Everthing I've checked seems to be working properly, I've even put the truck completely up on jacks and put it in drive and feel no binding in the powertrain. I'm wondering if it could be the tires worn unevenly.
Anyone have an issue like this or any ideas. I'm worried to run 4wd in fears I may hurt something. |

Binding feeling
Did you ever figure out what was causing your problem? Just curious because mine is doing the exact same thing.

This would be caused by either mismatched gears in the front and rear axles, or by tires with mismatched diameters from front to rear.

Yes, it did turn out to be mismatched gears. The tags on the pumpkins matched but had to take the cover off and count to really find the difference. Swapped out the front gears and all is well. I wish the guy I bought the truck from told me that work was done to the rear rear.
