Lock out hubs help needed

I just bought this truck(99 psd) and this is what I have found. Both of my lock outs were stuck in the lock position.I removed both of them and got them freed up to the auto position. They are still very hard to turn due to corrosion. I removed all of the inards but cannot get the plastic selector knob or seal out to clean the inside. I don't want to break the selector so I put them back together for now. Is there a trick to removing the selector without damaging it, or do I have to buy new hubs ? If I do have to buy new hubs I will go with a aftermarket manual if possible? I don't mind getting out to lock it in. Thank in advance for any help. Bill
