2005 6.0 defaults to 4wd low

Hey guys heres the deal:
customers truck defaults to 4wd low.

shifter wouldnt make a peep even wth snap-on diagostics forcing it through a KOEO self test specifically for the tcase.....

swapped the solenoid on the passenger fender well with a donor truck. now during the SolusPro 4x4 diag test it will click 2wd to 4wd hi to 4wd low to 4hi to 2wd all day. soon as the test ends and i hit BACK on the SnapOn it continually defaults to 4wd low.

oh before the shift solenoid swap it had p1876 (2wd shift solenoid fault) and p1832 (differential lockup solenoid circ fault). after swapping shift solenoids we dropped the codes at least (small victory)

question for you gurus..........

heard a rumor that the 4x4 control module cant simply be swapped? that it is vehicle specific? need this truck out of here tomorrow. thinking put the KNOWN GOOD 4x4 module on, the known good mechanical shifter in and drop it off to my hookup w/ dealer tools for a VIN write? i dunnoooooooooooo

its late and still have a 68rfe t pull tonight too!
