you talkin bout the ball joint kit or this.......

FRONTENDKIT Each $911.26 $911.26
$750.00
Complete 4x4 Front end rebuild kit (3/99 to 2004 - See descr

This a comprehensive kit that will allow you to have everything you need to replace both front hub bearings and all ball joints both the upper and lower all in one package shipped to your door. When ordering this kit we will need to know the last 8 of your VIN so we can determine the application of the hub bearing. Please be aware that if you have an Early build 1999 model to use these Hub Bearings it will require you to change the rotors to the later style. We can either provide you the rotors or to save on shipping we can give several different aftermarket part numbers that can obtain locally. You will recieve the following:

Moog Brand Greaseable Ball Joints

2-K80026 upper greasable ball joints

2-K8607T lower.greasable ball joints

2- F81Z4A322AA Yellow Orings between the hub and knuckle

2-F81Z3254CB Hub seals

2-F81Z1S175HCA Axle seals

8-F81Z1107AA Studs to connect hub bearing to knuckle

8-F81Z1120AA Nuts for above studs

2-BCA/National Hub Beaing Assy . These include all wheel studs and ABS sensors if applicable. Part Number varies dependent on application. Please provide the last 8 Digits of you Vehicle Identification Numer (VIN) so we can determine the correct ones for your truck.

As you can see this is everything in one box and ready to go so you don't have to make the extra trips after a seal or stud half way into the repair. All parts meet or exceed OEM standards at a fraction of the cost.

You might want to also put seals in while you have the hub off, as this might have been the cause of your problem by allowing water to get into your wheel bearing. I had to replace one of my hubs (wheel bearing assembly) and I believe that I ruled that the seals allowed water to get in and cause the wheel bearing to fail. Just a thought, it's not a big job once you have the hub off.

I guess I'll put down the extra 150 bucks and get the whole rebuild kit. I've been notified that the movement in the axle is normal and that if I pull the axle, I'll have to take it to ford to have a seal pressed on. Guess I'll do the ball joints while I'm at it and fix the bearings then I should be ok for another 100,000 miles

looks like I'll have to remove the axles anyways to do the ball joints... lol I think i saw someone 'fab' up something to use to put them on before?

Guess I'll just do the bearings then and see if that cures all the problems and hopefully fixes the //==o=\\ in the wheels. If so, then comes new tires, if not, it all comes back off!

Products came about 20 min after I left for work this afternoon, so I couldn't get on them. My step dad said he'd put them on but there seems to be a problem according to him. THere is an axle seal that came with the kit from www.powerstrokeshop.com and I guess it's the seal that ford has to put in or something and there shouldn't be any play in the axle like the video's show according to my step dad per the Haynes Repair manual. I can't verify this info yet since I'm not at home... but anybody that can give any info would be greatly appriciated.

This is what I was following http://superdutydiesel.com/wiki2/tik...p?articleId=35

I'm at the 9th to 14th picture right now.

the axle is only held in place by the backside hub seal, the snap ring and washers, and is held true by the hub lock itself and the small spindle bearing that is on the backside of hte hub inside the small hole holds it true and in place....so without the hub bearing assembly on, of course there will be play. the axle is not held into the fornt diff with anything, its just spines that slide right in.......
