Front hub bearing went out

I have a 2005 F350 SD 4X4 and the front sealed bearing went out in the hub. When it shredded it also destroyed the axel/knuckle seal. When i pulled out the axel and u joints i notice that the face of the axel was pitted from bearing shards. I attached pictures below however you may not be able to see them very clearly. My question is should i replace the axel at the universal joint or would this be ok to install back into the vehicle. My main concern is not having the worn axel take out the new bearings and seal i just paid $500 bucks for. If the only issue is that it wouldn't create a seal for the vacuum and auto locking hubs then i could live with that however i don't want to throw $500 bucks away and have to do this again. Any thoughts, suggestions, or comments are greatly appreciated. Also does any one know of some good aftermarket hubs? I would rather not go back to ford and pay $500 next time.

Thanks for your help.
