steering gear box-which one???

I want to know which steering box is the best, if there is a difference. No one has been able to tell me what the difference is between the two boxes that are available. Steering ratio? Design?
My new to me 01 Excursion steering gear box is worn out at 97,000 miles. Everything else is new.
I have the 36 spline box used on 1999-2001 Excursions and F series yc3z3504abrm code kn or kx. The other box that was used on 1999-2002 Excursions and F series has 32 splines and costs a few bucks less f7uz3504gbrm code jn. Cost is not the issue, I want the best performing box, if there is a difference. I will switch to the 32 spline if it is better and buy a pitman arm if that is all that is needed to make the swap. The motorcraft reman box is a few bucks more than other aftermarket suppliers.
Need to order asap. Thanks for the help.

if it were me I would either bring the gearbox and get a discount at o'reillys and get a refurbished one, or just goto the junkyard and get the same for like 5 bucks lol.
