Axle Play in front Differential

Had a problem with my four wheel drive not working on my 99 F250 S.D P,S,D.
Took it to the Ford Dealer and they replaced the pass. side hub and bearing .
Went to use the four wheel drive and still not working so I took the hub off(warn)and found the clip came off? I checked the axle and it seems to still have a lot of play in it is this normal? The other side has no play in it.

Ther is some when hub is off, do you have the hub off bolth sides?

No, that is with the hub together. I check my friends 02 S.D and it has some
play but not as much as mine and the fact my was just repaired I am wondering if that caused the hub to come apart.
