Angry spindle nut will not tighten all the way

I need some help
I have a 97 f350 4x4
My wheel is floping in the breze the spindle nut will not tighten against the bearing i think it might be fixed by getting a few more lock washers and grinding the key off of them so they will go between the nut and the bearing but i am probably wrong also some were in the confusion the automatic hub assembly exploded and crapped everything out inside there. i have no idea what to do. any advice would be epic. thanks
