Is this bad? Not normal? Broke?

There is a line of some sort that comes striaght off the top of the front differential. Right behind it, there is a bolt of some kind sticking out with nothing screwed on it.

The line that comes out of the differential is about half an inch long but there is a very long line that hangs from the engine compartment. It looks like this line make have been torn right at the differential.

Anyone know anything?

Thats the breather line off the diff. It would have connected to the frame to keep it above the water if you were in water such as launching a boat. Just get some new rubber hose and reinstall!

Oh okay thank god. Thats what I though it was, but since it went up into the engine compartment I had no idea.
