What would you have to do...?

Hey guys,

What would you have to do to a Ford PSD 6.0L, or 7.3L to get them under 12 seconds in the 1.4 mile?

put a exhaust dump in front of the cat. get a good free flowing intake system and hit it with nitous & propane. Traction is up to you though.

Check out what some of the guys are doing that participate in the Diesel Hot Rod Association: http://www.dhraonline.com

You're most likely talking aftermarket injectors, custom-programmed computer, a transmission that can handle the torque, and several other odds and ends that go beyond just "bolt-on" type upgrades. http://www.dieselinnovations.com has an 11.55 second SuperDuty. Click on the "Snow White" link for the list of modifications.

Who is familiar with the DHRA?

Why don't they run events all over the country? Are they a new association?

Does anone participate in their events? If so, is it well organized or is it a hillbilly show?

for 11's your going to need a fully built tranny, dual hpop, b code injectors, big turbo, probably nitrous or twin turbos, locker(s), custom tuning and all your other usual mods.

I think it would be a tough taks to run sub 12's in a ps. its not undoable by any means but tough. Tho only ones i can think of are Dockboy, powerstrokeracer, and Gene with a 6.0 (strokedlightining) that are running that fast! Any one know of any others?

Joking aside, I believe you should be able to run the mods Dockboy has in a regular cab 4x4 and put up low 11's. Dockboy, SnowWhite are 7.3's in the 11's. Remember Dockboy is an extended cab long bed and weighs in at roughly 7500#

I believe snowwhite would gain some from a 4x4 launch but what do I know? I haven't even broken 300rwhp yet.

I bet a 7.3 will be in the 10's sooner then you think
