LOL....put your seat further forward so you can reach the 4x4 switch....
After you hit 2nd, switch it back to 2 wheel drive, it will disengage.

I have done it a few time and every time I do it i have to back out of the gas to get her to come out of 4wd. But i also have some thing up with my hubs so that might be the reason.

yeah you can, but it will be difficult to keep focused on what you are doing at full throttle

as long as you have full traction, and all 4 tires are going the same speed, it will not hurt anything to disengage while driving. Ford transfer cases are designed to do that. You can even engage it into 4HI while driving down the road if your front hubs are locked and Im not even sure if that really matters. Just make sure that your rear tires are spinning the same speed as your front tires and load shouldnt matter.

Actually the driveline stress pretty much prevents it from coming out of 4wd.

Look at Dockboy's run I'll post below, he launches in 4wd and by the time he's at 120mph at the end of the run you see him take it out of 4wd. I often switch OUT of 4wd after I launch but you can feel that it DOESN't come out until you let off on the pedal.

Notice he switches it out of 4wd at the end... after he passes the 1/4 mile mark.

Remember this is hell on our T/C's and trannies! lol...
