Chevy LBZ from SSS goes 12.60 in the 1/4

Chris and I (that many of you met at the Southern Smoke Show) went to Coastal Plains Dragway tonight and ran in the Sportsman Class.

I took 1st in the sporstman class tonight - ran 12.43-12.45 on a 12.40 dial. Truck is running very consistant had a best of 12.41 and a worst of 12.47 tonight, both during time trials.

Chris (DrHolliday) ran his '06 LBZ for the first time with the lift pump and shim kit. He's the mostly stock Chevy that dynod 526 at SSS
12.60 @ 104 with a 7.95 in the 1/8th. This makes him the fastest stock motor LBZ I know of.

His mods are:
Diesel Addiction SunCoast IV trans & T-case Brace
5" Down-pipe back Flo Pro exhaust
Air Dog 150 lift pump
Shimmed Fuel Pressure Relief Valve
Tie Rod Sleeves & Straight Centerlink
Diesel Addiction engine and trans tuning via EFI Live
Leaf springs clamped up front.

He has a stock intake and downpipe on it even and runs on 255-85 (pizza cutter) tires on stock PYOs. No spray, no water meth, no propane - all motor. The only weight reduction he does is removing the tailgate. It's a loaded LT.

If you get beat by a girl in driving my duramax it's my fiance (my girl) driving my truck (my OTHR GRL). And yes she is hot. Come to the Diesel Drag race and dyno on October 10th and 11th in Jacksonville NC and she'll likely be making a pass in my truck.

He should bring it to Diesel Addiction, we'll do all the mods that are done to Chris's truck in one weekend and put him in the 12.6s.
Seriously though EFI Live tuning is the only way to go on a Duramax you want to get serious with (and you can have tow, economy or any other tune you want as well), once you start playing with bigger power the trans needs built to handle it and get it to the ground - I recommend a SunCoast Stage 4 build, next thing you need is a lift pump to help the CP3 keep up with the fueling and lastly you need to put some $0.05 washers in the Fuel Pressure Relief Valve to get it to hold the higher rail pressures. Put on some tie rods sleeves and a straight centerlink, clamp down the front of the leaf springs onto the helper spring and go run a 12.6.

None of the DA trucks have been touched by nitrous, propane, or water/meth injection. I might put a bottle on mine once I have a built motor waiting to get dropped in - just to see how fast it will go on stock bottom end.

Chris was runs 104 mgh, I run 107 mph.

As far as I have heard, read or found Chris is currently the quickest LBZ with all stock motor.
