launching problems

got a early 99 auto with stage 2 singles, tonys tunes, 5 inch exhaust straight, diy intake boost fooler and some other small things. d66 turbo in shop waiting to get thrown on there but they forgot my ebpv housing to go with it. my question is with everything but the turbo i was running 14.8 and dont remember trap speed. but launches suck. around like a 2.4 is the best. i used to have some 285 radials on there that didnt really grip that good and now i have some stock duramax tires(hey they were cheap and i was broke) its 2wd and im trying to find some way of launching without just blowing them off if i mat it. usually i cant competely get into it until pretty much 3rd gear or i have massive wheel hop and wheel spin. and i launch off of pretty much idle with no boost built. need to know a tire that grips good or maybe a place to get 16 inch slicks cuz most are for 15 inch rims. and maybe if someone has built some traction bars or found some on a web site i would be interested. thanks

Mickey Thompson makes ET street drag radials in 16". Don't know if they are going to handle the weight though?
