1/8 mile times?

Hello everybody...going to the local track on tuesday night and just curious what times I can expect. I'm running a full banks kit in my automatic 6.0 and firgure I should be doing low 14's in the quarter. Anyone running on an 1/8 mile track? I'm guessing middle to high 9's.

Well...that was educational. Best run of 10.12@73mph with a 1.96 reaction time. Apparently the truck is quicker than the driver! Having a hard time off he line, truck is overfueling and flubbering until the 60ft mark when it cleans out. O'..the announcer was harassing the starter because every time I pulled up he went running as not to get 'smoked'! Bye the way, this all happened a week before I found out my headgaskets have been bad for the last 2 months , guess I should've went to the dealer a bit earlier! will have to try again after the studs go in

Sounds like a fun time at the track - smokin' out the starter!

Hey Timmy, what year model is your rig and how did you find out that your head gaskets were toast?

hey rod...you dont want to hear this but its an 05! Its been showing white/yellowish residue around the cap on the degas bottle for quite some time but has never overheated, I guess this residue may be your only indication. I was hoping it was an egr cooler but dealer had it all day, they are not to fond of pulling the heads so they were hoping too! I just wonder how many other trucks are running around with bad gaskets...the guy that never looks under his hood might never know, and we all know plenty of them!

Shoot man that stinks.....we've had hardly any later models on here with HG problems. Is that the only sign/problem that you had was the coolant issue? Oh and did they give you any issues about the Banks setup, or did you pull it all off before you took it in?

Dealer knew prior so I made no attempt to hide it, pretty sure one might question the aftermarket intercooler with no computer...they said i'd be ok as long as there wasnt an abnormal amount of parts needed...I have a fairly good relationship with my dealer, they say they've only done 6 or 8 headgaskets and they sell quite a few trucks. Makes me wonder how many others are bad. Yes ,that was my only sign as to the problem, watch it well

No way! Dont I wish...that was on an 1/8 mile track! Should have been more like a 9.3 but I was havin a headgasket issue. A 10 sec. 1/4 with a 9200lb. truck is WAY outta my price range...think I'd run a low 14 or high 13, perhaps,if I could find a 1/4 in the area.

It's impossible to run a 10.12 in the 1/4 at just 73 mph........I don't even think you can travel a quarter mile in distance at 73 mph on a highway.

Yeah that's not an option - you sure it was a 1/4 Timmy? I'm by no means saying you're wrong but that's too slow for that time. I haven't taken mine down a strip YET but my Outlook monitor has me at a 13.9 and 90 - something mph. Even if my 1/4 time is track off by a few, my mph isn't going to be 20mph off.
