First time Drag

The local drag strip on Friday’s is now having a " run what ya brung" night. I thought it would be cool to take my truck up for a few runs.

2000 F-250 powerstroke

7.3L
AFE intake
Super chips microtuner
Straight piped
Rotella T synthetic oil
running 23.5 Lbs of boost on my X monitor ( pic attached)
(And im sure im forgetting something)

My question for you experts is..

Should i run in 4hi for added traction or not.
If no, leave the hubs disengaged?
Overdrive on or off?

Leave the OD on, even in OD these trucks still have a lot of power....also if you get towards the end of the track and you're not past the quarter line yet you're just hurting yourself sittin there max'd out in 3rd....
My buddy runs his in 4 hubs locked from start to finish. He powerbrakes and builds boost and then launches. He ran a 15.3 on a straight piped, diablosport predator chipped 02 ext cab longbed. He had some other mod that adds some power but I can't remember what it was.....

Youve got to hold the brakes really hard and try giving it just enough gas excuse me fuel to build boost, you dont have to try to tear the brakes out of it.

Wait for the first pre-stage light to come on.....then start powerbraking....you should move up enough to trip the second light and by then the tree will go green shortly thereafter......

On a sportsman tree, after the pre stage and stage, there are 3 amber lights then green 1/2 second apart. You want to leave around 1/2 way through the last amber for a good reaction time. So if you can time how long after you stand on it untill you blow through the brakes on your truck, you could nail the tree. So for an example if it takes 1/2 second for your truck to move after you mash it, you would floor it 1/2 way through the second amber and let the brake off 1/2 way on the last amber. It takes practice to cut a good light and not trip the big red one.
