Never remove your chip again!!!

The most common way that chip users damage their chips is on removal. We have taken care of the worry for you. The DP-Tuner F6 SMARTChip released October of last year is the first chip we have created to allow the end user to NEVER remove their chip again for reprogramming. Arrange the tunes on your chip how you want them. Receive emailed trial tunes for 10 key cycles absolutely FREE. Keep a library of tunes stored on your laptop for easy downloads when you need them.

Please visit our website for more details on what you get with your F6 SMARTChip.

DP-Tuner

For the month of April when you purchase the F6 SMARTChip, Switcher and Tunes receive 1 FREE standard codes tune of your choice on us. ($50 value)

If someone is not smart enough or mechanically apt enough to remove their chip from the PCM without damaging it, they should probably not even be installing a tuner in the first place. The contacts are no different from pluging a usb cable into a port or pluging in your cell phone.
Folks should also note that other well known tuning companies (No names as this is DP's vendor sponsored forum) are also releasing similar devices that will allow updates without the need to remove the chip from the PCM...

I was about to post the same thing. What's so hard about leaving the keys inside the house when replacing the chip or pcm?

The contacts are no different from pluging a usb cable into a port, SD card or other flash device or pluging in your cell phone.

While accidents happen, when care and attention to detail is applied, no harm is done.

Southpaw,

If this has been misinterepted I do apologize to you.

Our customers consist of many different people. Not everyone likes to mess with having to remove their chip everytime to update it with new tunes. This has nothing to do with whether someone is competent or not to install and unstall their chip. I think it is very insensitive to not think of the many people who are physically challeged. We have many customers who are and the thought of never having to touch their chip to send it back to us has made their life much easier.

Frying chips is common and don't let anyone tell you it isn't. You can easily fry a chip with static electricity. The less you have to handle them the less likely the chance of damaging it. We all err on the side of human and with that said it was our manufactures idea during the development stages to add this feature so you don't have to worry about it. It is convenient to the end user and that was the main purpose of the feature.

BTW- our products carry a lifetime unconditional replacement warranty from our manufactures. If anything does happen to the chip it is covered forever.

As for when and what is coming out; Our F6 Smartchip was in developement for 18 months before it was released in October of 2008. We scrapped everything we had been working on and started over in September of 2007. As a company to think that other companies will not try to follow what is being done in the industry is being very naive. It only makes us want to come out with better products.

Pulling the chip is a bit of a pain on an OBS so I do appreciate having an F-6.
