Profile for Vegetable Oil?
I guess this question is for Jody directly-have you guys looked into custom profiles for vegetable oil? I will be installing a Vegistroke kit on my truck soon and I've heard that when running on WVO it's always better to have timing advanced 3-4 degrees. Would it be possible to get a DPTuner with a "WVO" setting?

Badfish740, I have never heard of advancing timing for running Veggie oil. The burn rate of the oil is actually less. You can tell because with veggie oil you will see a slight reduction of power from dyno numbers while running it during a dyno run as opposed to regular #2. Jody uses the same tunes for veggie oil as he does for regular #2. No need for different tunes. What you will gain is a quieter running truck and a smaller fuel bill. Biodiesel may be a different story and we have yet to test this out due to so may different grades of bio to have to test... Sorry it took me so long to respond to you. We have been closed since last Thursday. Diane |

There's also a discussion of it here: cold start timing advance cable question on a vw? - Topic Powered by eve community I'm not really concerned with power, I just want to make sure that I'm not running too cool on WVO which can lead to injector coking and deposits. Any thoughts? |
