tunner questions
i would like to start by saying i know nothing about tuning or running a custom program for a vehicle, that being said i have heard good and bad things about changing your factory program. i am looking to better the vehicle for fuel economy and vehicle longevity, not for racing, i own a 07 350 diesel srw with 180,000 klms (yes i am Canadian
) i tow now and then but not heavy loads like some avg load 10,000 lbs.what are the advantages of a dp tuner?has dp tuner programs been tried and tested to ensure proper programing not to destroy vehicle?also could anyone describe the difference in the different programmers you have avail and the difference in the different programs avail for my truck...thanks you very much

For the 6.0l diesel we have the custom tuned SCT X3. We have tow tunes for different weights and economy tunes for fuel economy gains. My 05 Ex has a consistant hand calculations of 19 mpg on the hwy and mixed in town driving 17-18 mpg. Having owned 2 6.0'ls, Jody takes into consideration the infamous pukeing of coolant. His tunes are very conservatiive. If you experience this you may already have stretched head gaskets and they may need to be replaced. Both of our 6.0's have never leaked coolant out the degas bottle. Stretched hg's seem to be an issue due to excessive heat. Jody's tunes run cooler then stock. If you have any more questions don't hestitate to email us. Diane |
