7.3 ZF5 will not shift into 2nd when downshifting

The truck runs great and is in good cond it just will not downshift into 2nd gear. I need help I am about to buy truck for $5000 but do not know if the trans is a bad decision, guy drives everyday and is noce truck 100,000 on motor and 245,000 on body & trans. Anyone help me make decision should I buy or run away? Thanks for the help!

It probably just need synchros. Mine would barely go into 2nd and 3rd when I bought it. Did the rebuild myself. Cost around $350.

Yes ^^^ if its in as great shape everywhere else then some bad syncros arent that bad as long as you have some extra Benjamins to throw into the trans to rebuild it (do a bit a research to make sure you want to do that). The zf5 is a pretty good trans especially compared to an E4OD.
